Dear Family...Our sister won't be here this Christmas but would have wanted to have me share the following...
My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights like Heaven’s starts, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not far away, we really aren’t apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear,
And be glad I’m spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above,
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can’t count the blessing or love He has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

To My Loving Sister Katherine aka Kathy aka KATT
We little knew that day
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly.
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you.
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories.
Your love is still our guide.
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same.
But God calls us one by one.
The chain will link again.
Until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
Rest in Peace my sister.

Dear Auntie Katt,
You will forever be in my heart. You were a confidant, a teacher, and role model. You pushed me to be a better person, and I will continue to do so throughout my life.
I'll always remember the little things, Auntie. I'll remember the movies and popcorn, the Christmas strolling around the island just to see the lights, the boba and bubble tapioca drinks, the Harry Potter books, the endless card games(where you beat me every single time.), our evening discussion about what's on TV, the debates that led to arguments that caused us to not speak and make up 3 days later. Don't forget about the caroling, the football games and American Idol seasons. All of them--cherished memories that will be on my mind.
You, like all the other aunties, groomed me into the person I am today. You helped me grow as a nephew-- and as a man. I'll keep you with me forever and pass on your teachings to my younger cousins and future children.
Rest in Paradise Auntie Katt!

I've known Kathy since we were in junior high and it was with her that I shared my thoughts, fears, and joys. She was my best friend and we got through high school together playing volleyball and softball. We even toasted to each other's 21st birthdays (so long ago!), and we took a couple of trips to Hawaii together. There were our Carlos Murphy's celebrations – something I looked forward to, especially as our college and then careers separated us. We rented a home together for a while and we had loads of laughs playing Hearts and Spades. Then we didn’t see each other for years and spoke infrequently, but when we did, we always picked up right where we left off. We were kindred spirits in many ways, especially in our faith and one of my fondest memories were of us in our younger years singing Christmas songs together. She always made us sound so good! Though we didn’t speak often these past few years, her emails of holiday cheer and birthday wishes always put a smile of my face.
Oh Katt, you are already missed and I truly hope you knew you were loved by so many! Please pray for me, Katt, and I will offer Divine Mercy prayers for you.
To the family of Kathy, my deepest and sincere condolences. In honor of her I give these words of advice and consolation: Our Lord has called her and no healing hands could change that if God, in His Divine plan, did not wish it so. I say these words out of love and gentle reminder that the key to love and happiness among relations is forgiveness. Please let His Church and the Divine Mercy message be a guide to family togetherness and, ultimately, our own preparedness to be with God and Katt when our own time is called.
