Pamela Orchow Reeder posted a condolence
Although I have not seen Marlene for quite a few years,I will always remember her as the best friend I ever had.
I have so many memories it would be impossible for me to list them all here....our crazy weekend trip to The Beverly Hills Hotel where we laid out at the pool with our sunglasses laughing about how we looked like celebrities, the Laguna art show, the many holidays spent with her,our cruise to Mexico where she got sea sick but hung in there anyhow, the birth of my son when Marlene sat by my side for the entire 27 hours I was in labor, the fun nights out dancing at Botany's in the 80's with our hair permed and all teased & big,so many many special times that I will always treasure.
I have missed her these past years and I will continue to miss her for the rest of my life.

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have is memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake in which i'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

I just saw you a few weeks ago. We sat for hours and talked about so many things. I will miss you and think of you often. Thank you for sharing the experience you had regarding "feeling" my mother close by to you. It made me happy to think she would be around you. She always adored you. You will be missed. I am just so sad.

I will always remember Marlene as one of the most unselfish people I have ever known. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone she met. If you needed help with anything she was always there. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

I feel fortunate that having to file for an extension on our income taxes, caused me to have lunch with Marlene in April. It was such a pleasure to spend that time with her and now it's even more special.
I'm going to miss her and, from all the correspondence I have received, I know I won't be the only one.
She was a great friend and the passage of time had only made our friendship deeper.

Diane (Payeur) Sturman posted a condolence
Marlene was my very special friend after we graduated from Saline High in 1970. There are many, many memories that will be cherished that include long weekends up at MSU doing the 80's party scene, hanging out on Payeur Road during snow storms, and sharing lots of laughs together! She meant a lot to my family and was the only one my father didn't "kick out" of his special chair when she visited! I'm so glad that I saw her this past Thanksgiving, in Saline, where so many memories were recalled and laughed over until we cried. She was a jewel and I will think of her every, every day. My heart-felt sympathies to her family. RIP, Mar. I love you in a Big TEXAS way! Di
