Rest in peace great Uncle Eddie. Your joy for life was contagious and made the world brighter. You have been such an active and vibrant member of your community and are an inspiration. It was so special getting to spend time with you and Eva over the years. I hope you are with her and Grandma bagel now. ♥️

Eddie, was my great uncle. We also shared a birthday-July 28th! Uncle Eddie was always the perpetual life of the party. He had a passion for life that you rarely see. Eddie would have no problem going up to strangers and talking to them or even asking to try their food at a restaurant! Eddie truly was one of a kind and did not try to be anything other than what he was, a true original. He will be missed but his legacy and passion for life will live on with those who knew and loved him. Rest well and give Eva our love.

Ed was the ultimate people person. He had the ability to talk to everyone, to recognize what people were interested in, and to convince them to join in whatever activity he was currently giving his energy to. And his interests were many.
In March he was the current president of the Jewish Friendship Club and Temple BKB’s Men’s Club, Vice Commander and about to be elected Commander of the Jewish War Veterans Post 21. He served on BKB’s Board of Directors and on Sun City’s Properties Committee. Ed sang in the Temple’s Choir and water walked with the Arthritis Club. He was a friend to many.
But the Ed I want to talk about was my friend and my husband Dave’s best friend. Ed convinced Dave to become an honorary member of the JWV and when I volunteered to become the Newsletter editor, Ed offered to do the monthly mailings.
We introduced Ed to the Met Opera in HD at the local movie, and we attended most performances together. We were invited to attend birthday celebrations with friends and family.
Ed and Dave went to lunch at least once a week until he called to say he wasn’t feeling well and would reschedule. The next day he was in the hospital.
Ed loved music, theater, riddles that he shared. He had a wonderful sense of humor and an almost insatiable desire to learn new things. Ed always had interesting things he wanted to talk about. He has left a hole in our lives.

Ed was my only real uncle. He was always delighted to see me when I would visit him in Las Vegas and we would sit with him for hours talking about the state of the world, the latest movie or tv show he had seen or a great meal he had enjoyed with friends.
For many years, Paul and I would go visit Eddie and Eva who would proudly talk about "their town" and share the news of happenings in their community. After Eva's passing, visiting my uncle became a highlight of my trips to Las Vegas. He loved to talk sports with Paul and the two of them would diligently work on their favorite teams to create sure fire winning sports bets!
During our phone calls, Ed would always want to know how my family was and listen to anything that I wanted to share. However, he rarely if ever complained about anything in his life, even if I knew he was having challenges. How wonderful it was to be around someone who always had a smile on his face and loved to laugh! Last summer my sister and I were able to interview him and tape his memories of his wartime experiences in WW2. It was a gift to be able to hear his first hand accounts of life during that time and his detailed memories of those times was both uplifting and eye opening. I will miss my dear Uncle every day, but take comfort that he will not be forgotten and is loved by many. Lila and Paul Faitro
