On Friday, 11/3 I, along with two other girlfriends, had our last "Friday Girlfriends" night with Gracious Jean in Room 119 at Southern Hills Hospital. We talked to her, played some songs as we knew our special girlfriend was leaving us here on earth and getting promoted to her eternal home. The last song I played for our girlfriend was "Because HE lives, I can face tomorrow." I have to repeat the lyrics on a daily basis to be reminded that HE knows the future and gave us such special times to be with our girlfriend. We had many times of laughter, talking, crying and most of all, growing stronger in the Lord together.
Family, your mom had a very special impact in my life....I still can recall her sitting in the back of the church and having the opportunity to sit with her. She was always entering the church with a contagious smile.
One lesson learned from my girlfriend is "never give up" she was definitely the example of that lesson.
My last conversation with Jean was Tuesday evening, October 31st when she was planning a time for she and I to meet for dinner. Jean, I know we will reunite in heaven one day for that dinner I will have with you in your beautiful mansion.
You will always be loved.....thank you for allowing me to be part of the Scott family and will continue to love your family....till we meet again.
