Obituary of David Goldman

David Goldman, "Poppy", age 89, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 14, 2015. David was born August 7, 1925 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Benjamin and Faye Goldman. David lived most of his life in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the US Army. He was a self-made, successful businessman, who for many years owned Century Furniture in Dayton. He was a entrepreneur who founded and operated this and many other businesses throughout his life. After retiring, he and his wife, Marcia, moved to Las Vegas in 1986, which was their favorite place to visit for many years. David was always an avid golfer., loved the game, and he was great at it, with a handicap similar to the pros. A loving family man and friend, who loved to kibbitz with everyone, and everyone loved him. He was a handsome, sharp dresser and lit up any room he entered. He had an extraordinary relationship with his wife of 62 years, Marcia, writing her love notes, always holding hands, and caring for her. They were inseparable. It seems appropriate David would pass away on Valentine's Day to again be with the love of his life. David is survived by his daughter, Darlene (John) Schuck; son, Douglas Goldman; grandchildren Jordan and Alexis Schuck and Abby and Ally Goldman. He is predeceased by his wife,, Marcia Goldman and daughter, Denise Goldman. A memorial service was held at Congregation Ner Tamid, followed by a graveside service at King David Cemetery in Las Vegas.
