Obituary of Burton Gilman

Burton Gilman, age 86, of Las Vegas, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Burton was born August 20, 1928 in Malden MA to the late Jacob and the late Bessie (Sperber) Gilman. He served in the US Army and graduated from Suffolk University in Boston. He worked in automotive parts distributing. Burt was a loving man, who gave of his time, energy and resources in every community in which he lived. In Massachusetts, Burt was very involved in the Masonic Lodge, serving as a Past Lodge Master, Lodge secretary and District Deputy Grand Marshal. In Las Vegas, Burt worked tirelessly over the year and was a two time past president of Temple Bet Emet. He also served as president of the home owner's association boards where he lived in both Florida and Las Vegas. Burt loved to walk, read and cheer on his Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. Burton is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred "Millie" Gilman; children Gary and Sherri Gilman of Gilbert AZ, and Lori Gilman Gailbreath and David Gailbreath of Saltsburg PA; grandchildren Jared and Adam Gilman of Gilbert AZ, and Bonnie and Lucas Dora of Saltsburg, PA; great grandson Eli Jacob Dora; and brother Sheldon (Iris) Gilman of Malden MA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89134.
