Obituary of Alexander Ira Polland

Alexander Polland, age 62, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 11, 2015 at home, after a long battle with brain cancer. Alex was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Alex attended high school at Loara High School in Anaheim CA, and graduated in 1970. After high school, he played on the professional tennis circuit for six years, then went to work at Disneyland's Tennisland, in the position of recreation manager. Upon retiring from Disneyland, Alex began a career in the mortgage industry, where he opened AP Lending Services, with branches in both California and Nevada. He was preceded in death by his father Peter Polland; and stepfather Ben Berger. Alex is survived by his loving wife, Caren; and adored daughter Mia; mother Rae Berger; sisters Jayne (Peter) Behman and Beth (Steve) Roberts; nieces and nephews Seth, Peter, Stevie, Alex and Alicia. Memorial services were held on March 1, 2015 at Temple Beth Sholom, Las Vegas.
