Obituary of Marie Sharp

Marie Sharp, age 87, a 50 year resident of Las Vegas, died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at home in Las Vegas. Marie was born January 3, 1928 near Casablanca, Morocco, to the late David and the late Zohora Benisty. She met Maurice Sharp at the Port Lyaute Naval Air Station in Morocco. They married and moved to the US. In 1965 they moved to Las Vegas. Marie, also known as Miriam, was an active volunteer with Temple Beth Sholom and B'nai Brith. She spoke five languages including French, Hebrew, Spanish, Italian and English. She is survived by her husband Maurice Sharp, Son Gary (Susan) Sharp; grandchildren Bryan, Maryann and David Sharp; and brothers Charles Benisty and Michael Benisty. She is predeceased by her son, Michael Sharp. A graveside service will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Contributions in Marie's memory may be made to a nonprofit which supports Israel.
