Obituary of David Dale Julius

David Dale Julius, age 69, a 10 year resident of Las Vegas and formerly of Mankato MN, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014, at home. David was born March 30, 1945 in Rock Rapids IA, the third of 10 children to Henry and Lillian (Renken) Julius. Dave attended Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago IL and then Southwest State in Marshall MN. He became licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in 1971 and has been working in that field ever since. He owned his own funeral home in Garretson SD, and worked for other funeral homes in Minnesota and Las Vegas NV. Dave was very involved in community, religious and civic organizations in the cities where he lived. He received an award from the Lions Club in Minnesota for his work with eye enucleation for transplants. Dave enjoyed reading, but his passion was his family. He was extremely proud of his family and was dedicated to keeping them connected with each other. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Dave was proud that he never experienced a hospital stay, even at his birth. He also took great pride that he had 20/20 vision and almost no grey hair. David is survived by his wife of 46 years LeAnn Julius; children Scott (Nicole) Julius of Milwaukee WI, Kandice (Joel) Rollefson of Henderson NV, Corey (Wendy) Julius of Sioux Falls SD and Dustin (Elizabeth) Julius of Mankato MN; grandchildren Elizabeth Julius, Abigail Julius, Victoria Julius, Ethan Julius, Isabella Julius, Michael Julius, Marli Rollefson, Lauren Julius and Henry Julius. He is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lillian Julius and his sister Beverly Julius. A visitation and funeral took place on December 22 and 23 in Mankato, MN. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147.
