Obituary of Barbara Adele DeBary

Barbara Adele deBary (Barb), age 58, of North Las Vegas, departed this earth on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Barb was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 4, 1956 to Marvin & Irene "Faye" Sugarman. She is the oldest of four siblings, Marcia (Sugarman), Robin (Osborg) and Marilyn (Procaccini). She was raised in New York and move to Long Island with her family where she attended Kings Park High school and was a graduate of the class of 1974. Her family later moved to Framingham Massachusetts where she attended Framingham College/University and received her degree in Respiratory Therapy. She had an extremely successful career and made lifetime friendships at Montgomery General Hospital, Suburban Hospital in MD and Sunterra and MCV in VA and currently at her employer, Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She married Donald Oliver in 1984 and over their 17 year marriage they lived in Gaithersburg, MD and Norfolk VA. Don passed away in 2000. She met and fell in love with her soul mate, William Theodore deBary and married him on June 15, 2001. They celebrated 13 incredible years together in VA and Las Vegas. Their home in Las Vegas was filled with love, compassion and faith. They travelled to many places together, but none as great as Disneyland and Hawaii with close friends Lori and Alan Martin. Barb was able to experience great adventures with Bill and her friends that she held dearly in heart and memories. Bill was her best friend and incredible caregiver throughout her life but none more greater than her four year battle with Cancer. She was forever grateful to him for his love and compassion. She is survived by many loving family and friends, including a very loving and devoted Mother, Faye and was preceded in death August 8, 2013 by her beloved Father. Her Dad was her best friend, role model and inspiration throughout her life and they shared many tender moments during both of their battles with cancer. Throughout her life she shared great friendship and love with her three sisters and their spouses, Marilyn & Jim Procaccini, Robin & Andy Osborg and Marcia Sugarman. She shared beach trips, card games, country concerts, endless chats and support and friendship from each of them. She is also survived by her nieces, Stacey Sugarman , Michelle, & Angela Procaccini and Great Nieces Shyanne, Hailey and Andrianna Snyder. Barb was an incredible Aunt and was adored by each of these girls. She shared many, many great times cheering on Michelle and Angie in soccer games and was Campbell Universities long distance fan and watched many games online cheering on her niece Michelle. She was touched deeply by the girls texts to her and words of encouragement and inspiration throughout her battle with Cancer. She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Barbara and Ed deBary and Brother-in-law Ed, Jr and Nikki deBary, Sister-in-Law Barb and Carl Kesner and Sister-n-law, Debbi Beer. She is also survived by three nephews, Jacques, Brandon, and Ryan. A Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday October 30, 2014 at 12:00 pm, at the Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd., Germantown MD 20874. A luncheon to follow at the home of Patty and Joe Mahoney, 11 Foxwood Ct, Germantown. Guests are encouraged to wear bright colors; purple blue or green, but no black. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations can be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice Care Center - 3150 North Tenaya Way, Suite 350, Las Vegas, NV 89128 in her name and honor. The loving care of the Hospice Center made a huge impact on all of her family as they assisted in her transition from this life to the next. The family wants to sincerely thank all of our friends and loved ones from all over the United States that have expressed prayers, words of encouragement and faith to all of us. We are deeply touched by your love and support and they sustain us at this time. Grieve not…. nor speak of me with tears…. but laugh and talk of me… as though I were beside you, I loved you so… 'twas Heaven here with you.
