Obituary of Donald James Baynes

Donald J. Baynes, 84, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was called to heaven on September 19, 2014 from home. Don was born in Youngstown, Ohio to James and Stella Baynes on February 18, 1930. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948 and from Youngstown College in 1952. He worked as an accountant for the IRS for 32 years in both Youngstown and Washington, DC. He served in the United States Army as a Sgt. First Class and was a Korean War veteran. Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Virginia, by his four children: Janet Barrett, Joseph Baynes, Philip Baynes and Julie Baynes and by his grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at St. Joseph's Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV. Burial will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Arrangements were entrusted to Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services.
