Obituary of John Alexander Wilkinson

John Alexander Wilkinson (Jack) 83, of Sun City Anthem Henderson, Nevada passed away August 3rd 2014. John leaves behind his wife, Audrey, two sons Jesse and Nigel, daughter-in-law Elena, grandchildren Alexander and Michelle. John was the 6th child in a family of eight. He worked hard in the shipyards while attending night classes and spent two years in the U.K. Army. Jack met and married Audrey Mounteney, they had two sons Jesse and Nigel. John came home from work one day and said "I hate Stan Jackson my boss, I've been thinking of going to America. Do you mind if I left you with the babies?" He borrowed the one way air fare from his sisters and left for Denver. He didn't know anyone in the states and had very little money. John was told that he needed to go to Detroit but didn't want to go, as he said that there were, "to many gangsters." He got a job, when a salesman put a good word in for him , John received an interview with Ford Motor Company. Every one we met in the states was supportive and kind. The family lived in Michigan from 1965 – 1977. Louisville Kentucky from 1977 – 1996. St. George Utah from 1996 – 2006. John battled NonHodgkin's cancer and won. John and Audrey moved to Sun City Anthem in Henderson Nevada, to be closer to their sons. John loved gambling, golf (he even made three holes in one) , reading, and talking politics and world affairs. He was rarely ill and worked pass his retirement age. Unfortunatelty, John became ill from his chemotherapy and had a few years of painful treatments, but he rarely complained. John and Audrey would sit on their back porch overlooking the golf course and say " here's to you Stan Jackson" without him we would not have such a wonderful life.
