Obituary of Isidro Talavera Altamira

Isidro Talavera Altamira, also known as Sid and Totoy, age 60, of Las Vegas, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 after a hard fought six year battle with colon cancer. Isidro was born May 15, 1954 in Atimonan, Quezon, Philippines to the late Ernesto and the late Maria (Talavera) Altamira, one of seven siblings. He graduated from Quezon Memorial School in 1971 then migrated to California in July 1980. Isidro was married to Juana Reyes and was a wonderful father to daughters, Mary and Amber, who are both straight A students. He worked as a change person, cashier and casino porter for 18 years at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino. In his hay day, he played basketball with the Vikings and Avant Garde teams. He continued to follow NBA games until he got sick. He was a member of Atimonan Global Alliance - HELP, a charitable non-profit organization. Isidro is survived by his wife Juana; his children, Mary and Amber; his siblings, Anita, Rene, Ed and Estela, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Ma. Nena; and his siblings, Junior and Angelo. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Juana and family. The family of Isidro T. Altamira wishes to thank you all for celebrating his life.
