Obituary of Ordell Zeldon Wright

Ordell Zeldon Wright passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 in his home in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 84. He was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on September 8, 1929 to Zeldon Frederick and Della (Brown) Wright. He grew up in Beazer, Alberta, Canada in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where he enjoyed working and playing with his family. They moved to Brooks, Alberta where his father bought a farm. It was while living in Brooks that he met Darleen Lybbert while attending a Sunday School class. A few years later, after Ordell returned from serving a mission to Samoa for the LDS church, they were married November 18, 1953 in the Cardston, Alberta LDS Temple. Ordell and Darleen are the parents of five children. He spent his life as a devoted husband and father. He served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in many leadership positions. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger brother Gregory. Ordell is survived by his wife Darleen (Lybbert), and his children Gary Ordell and Jan Wright; Teresa Mae and Neil Hirschi; Myra Ann and Reed Christensen; Karen Darleen and Alberto De La Paz; Grant Edward and Martha Wright; 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Colleen Yuill and brothers Willis, Leo, and David Wright. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, 9011 Hillpointe Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada. Viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Interment will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Paragonah, Utah.
