Obituary of Phyllis Marie Hurm

Phyllis Marie Hurm, 84, of Las Vegas, previously a resident of LaCrosse, passed away December 26, 2013. Phyllis was born September 5, 1929 in Chicago IL to the late Harold and the late Martha (Lier) Hurm. A devoted Catholic, Phyllis had a great faith in Jesus and she passed this love and faith on to her daughter. A woman of many interests and talents, she worked as a caregiver to the elderly, a writer for the "Prior Lake Newspaper" (Minn), an employment agent and a salesperson. She had a love of the arts as well as traveling, football, hiking and boating. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Karen Kita of Las Vegas NV, sister Elaine Mooney of LaCrosse WI, and several nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her foster daughter Brenda Ernst, sister Audrey Hansen and husband Louis Kita. A viewing and funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89128. A memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph's Cathedral in LaCrosse, WI on January 6, 2014 at 6:00am. There will also be a memorial mass on January 26, 2014 at 5:00pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing, IO.
