Obituary of Allen Marvin Ruttenberg
Allen Marvin Ruttenberg, age 93, of Las Vegas, passed Thursday, December 19, 2013. Allen was born August 28, 1920 in Chicago, IL, to the late Leroy and the late Rose (Kessler) Ruttenberg.
He served in the Army during World War II, in the Battle of Bulge in Normandy. Allen was also in was a part of the 298th Combat Engineers, and was awarded two purple hearts. He could be quoted saying "If it weren't for the World War II soldiers, none of us would be here." After serving his country, he worked as a well known optician in Los Angeles, California and owned Allen optical for 45 years and was known as the optician to the stars. We will all miss his wonderful sense of humor and his loving and caring persona. He loved his family dearly.
Allen predeceased by his wife of 61 years Lillian Ruttenberg, and daughter Sandra Ruttenberg. He is survived by his daughter Karin Ruttenberg, and brother Milton Ruttenberg.
