Obituary of Selma Zirin

Selma Zirin, age 91, of Las Vegas and formerly of New York, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Selma was born July 22, 1922 in New York, NY to the late Sam and the late Minnie (Ambach) Jaffe. Selma worked as a Hebrew teacher for Midway Jewish Center and was an active member of Temple Shaarei Tzedeik congregation in New York. She enjoyed reading and staying up to date on politics and current events. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters, Paula (David) Greene of Las Vegas NV and Heddy Zirin of Huntington Station NY; and grandchildren Alex and Julian Helisek. She is predeceased by her husband Hyman Zirin. A private funeral service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City NV. Contributions in Selma's memory may be made to a breast cancer research organization.
