Obituary of Nancy Springberg
Nancy Springberg, 75, passed away peacefully in Las Vegas, NV September 11, 2013 with her husband, three sons, and caregiver and friend, Hilit Weiss, by her side. Nancy was born August 28, 1938 in the Bronx, NY the oldest of four children. She was predeceased by her parents Norman and Sally Nowak (Lindenbaum) and brother Michael Nowak. Nancy worked in the garment district as a buyer in Manhattan and never lost her love or eye for fashion. A rare beauty, she married Jerry Springberg in 1959 and is survived by him, her three sons Larry (Jodi), David (Carol) and Brian, seven grandchildren and her sisters Joan Lichtenstein (Nowak) and Judy Nowak. Nancy moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ with her family in 1973, corralling her four boys and eventually running the show behind the scenes at Springberg McAndrew Financial Services from 1982 until her retirement in 2000. She was known for being tough in business, unfailingly generous to her friends, employees and those in need and a great supporter of charity having been instrumental in the beginnings of Havasu for Youth and the Cancer Association of Havasu. A devoted wife and mother, she was caring and strong to the end. Nancy rarely complained during her long battle with Parkinson's Disease, preserving her dignity and the peace of mind of those who cared so much about her. Her joy in life was the wellbeing of others, a loss to everyone she's left behind and a blessing to those she has joined. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers donations in Nancy's name can be sent to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. An outdoor funeral will be held at 9:30 am on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Veterans Memorial Park, across the street from the Veteran's Cemetery, 1650 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. Burial will immediately follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
