Obituary of Arlene Schimel

Arlene Schimel, age 81, passed away August 7th, 2013 in Las Vegas. She was born June 30th, 1932 in New York to the late Rose and Nathan Ginsberg. Arlene attended Lafayette High School, where she met her loving husband of 61 years, Marvin. She managed her husband's window design business, Marvin Schimel Display, and worked in a Manhattan-based textile shop, where she created and sold many hand-knit designs and accessories. An avid runner, knitter, and traveler, Arlene lived each and every day to the fullest and loved spending time with her family. Arlene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by husband Marvin Schimel, daughter Adrienne Gutzwa and husband Chip, son Craig Schimel and wife Jamie, grandchildren Justin, Rosanne and husband Zach Abley, and Ryan, and many loving friends and family members. A celebration of Arlene's life will be held Sunday, August 11th, at Kraft-Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S Durango Dr. #104, Las Vegas, NV 89147 at 11:30 AM. Donations in Arlene's memory may be made to the St. Baldrick's Foundation or Cure 4 The Kids Foundation.
