Obituary of Anthony Alfred Zappa

Anthony Alfred Zappa, age 75, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013. Anthony was born March 29, 1938 in Pittsburgh PA to the late Alfred and the late Anna (Rimsky) Zappa. He served in the Navy after high school, then met and married Marjorie in 1957. Anthony worked as a steel worker in Pittsburgh, where they raised four children. He was active in the Knights of Columbus and as a coin collector in Pittsburgh. He and Marjorie moved to Las Vegas in 1991 to retire, where he became active in the Christ the King Catholic Community. Anthony is survived by his daughters Ann Zappa of Las Vegas NV and Rhonda Chernay of Irving, TX; grandchildren Walter Chernay of Irving and Nicholas Chernay of Irving; great granddaughter Lilly Erickson-Chernay; and siblings John Zappa, Kathleen Donatelli and Phyllis Trecki all of Pittsburgh and Lucille Murray of Milford, Iowa. Anthony is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Zappa and his children Jacqueline Marie Zappa and Anthony Alan Zappa. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S Torrey Pines Dr, Las Vegas, NV at 11AM on Friday, August 2, 2013. Interment will follow in Pittsburgh.
