Obituary of Jacob "Jack" Irving Hausner

Jacob "Jack" Irving Hausner, age 83, a 20 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013. Jack was born April 18, 1929 in New York, NY to the late Shimon Sam and the late Riza (Davidovitch) Hausner. Jack served in the US Army and had a career as an insurance adjuster in New York. After moving to Las Vegas he worked as an arbitrator and foreclosure mediator. Jack enjoyed all sports and was an avid reader. Jack is survived by his wife Bernice(Baumwoll) Hausner; children Abbe Hausner, Stacey Solomon, Brian (Joanna) Hausner, Gary (Fran) Cherkis and Randy (Jan) Cherkis; eight grandchildren, Ariela, Jackie (Issac), Summer, Justin, Steven, Danielle, Robert, and Breanna Cherkis; four great-grandchildren Elisha, Azi, Atara and Rifka; sister Ruth Kaplan; sisters In Law Pauline (Irv) Elthan and Martha (Blaine) Tallman; and brother in law Walter (Karen) Baumwoll. The funeral will be held 10:40 am on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. Contributions in Jack's memory may be made to an organization which supports the cure of cancer or a charity of the donor's choice.
