WE BOTH ARE HONORED TO LIGHT THIS CANDLE IN FOND MEMORY OF NELLIE ETHEL BROWN. TO US SHE WAS SUCH A DELIGHTFUL PERSON TO BE AROUND, HIGHLY EDUCATED, HAPPY ALL THE TIME, YET SO SOFT SPOKEN AND FRIENDLY, WITH A GREAT LOVE OF FAMILY, THOUGH ONLY KNOWING NELLIE FOR A FEW SHORT YEARS, WE FELT MORE THAN NEIGHBORS BUT AS GOOD FRIENDS, SHE ALONG WITH HER LOVING FAMILY ALWAYS MADE US FEEL AS IF WE PART OF THEIR FAMILY. WE WILL ALWAYS TREASURE OUR MEMORIES OF THE FREQUENT VISITS TO HER HOME IN LAS VEGAS, WHERE WE SHARED NUMEROUS THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS, AND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS WITH NELLIE AND MANY OF HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS, WE ALWAYS HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AT THESE EVENTS. KU YONG ENJOYED MANY VISITS TO HER HOME, WHERE THEY WOULD TALK OF FAMILY, LAS CRUCES NEW MEXICO, CURRENT EVENTS AND LOVE OF LIFE, SHE WILL ALWAYS TREASURE MEMORIES OF THESE VISITS WITH NELLIE. OUR CONDOLENCES GO OUT TO ALL OF HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS. NELLIE ETHEL BROWN, WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS, AND WE WILL MISS HER PRESENCE, BUT HER MEMORIES ARE FOREVER WITH US.

Dear Mom;
You cared for Jim when he was little and needed a new mother, and that’s just one of the reasons why I love you. You shared a part of your life with me and that’s another reason why I love you. We shared a hat for shade in Monument Valley, we shared a train ride through the Colorado Rockies, and we shared many beautiful miles and memories together as we traveled our path of life the past few years because you decided to welcome me as part of your family. We had our differences in culture and in thinking at times, but together we worked through those differences and grew together in love and understanding.
I told you before, but I want to tell you once more, thank you for caring for my Jim when he needed a mom, and thank you for helping him reach the place where he could share his life with me, that was a wonderful gift you prepared to give without question or hesitation and I thank you for that gift and I love you for giving that gift to me! I also thank you for letting me share your life as I shared mine with you. We are both richer for that love and sharing and I will always hold you in my thoughts and prayers as I have done each day since I first met you over 16 years past.
Have a wonderful journey in the place of peace and light, you are now out of your pain and away from your restrictions and you are finally in your real home!
Mom please know; as you journey through the light, I will always hold your memory in my heart!
With my love and my wish for your wonderful journey home;
Jonathan Ha

Dear mom;
I will always remember sharing sunsets and the night sky with you, I will always remember your excitement about your favorite holiday, Christmas, I will always remember your watching and trying to guess the answers on Jeopardy, and I will always remember how you made it your 'job' to sort the pages of the newspaper each day so each of us had the parts we wanted. Most of all I will remember your love and the gift of becoming my mom when you and our dad adopted me. I thank you for that gift and I thank you for all the other gifts and good times you made available to me. One of the most important gifts you gave was when I was six years old and you taught me about accepting others, even those who are different when you saw a neighbor boy trying to teach me to hate when a black kid came to our street in California. You could not have known at the time, but that lesson helped me then, and has helped me every day since. Your love and your strong faith will always be a lesson and gift to me, and will always be there to help guide me when things get rough. Thank you and know that I will always love you and will always hold your memory in my heart and as a guiding light in my life.
With my love and with your memory close I bid you a farewell and a pleasant journey until we meet again.
Love Jim
