Obituary of David Loban
David Loban, age 86, of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013. David was born December 7, 1926 in Glasgow Scotland to the late Samuel and the late Bessie (Ginsburg) Labinsky. David was a talented musician who primarily played the trumpet and flugelhorn. Before coming to the US, he played for Nat King Cole and other performers throughout Europe. After moving to the US, David performed with the Sands in-house band, playing for the likes of Frank Sinatra, Connie Stevens, Buddy Holly, Siegfried & Roy and Folies Bergere. After they stopped having live music in the showrooms, David became a dealer. He was a 53 year, 32nd degree mason and a charter member of the Shriners Club in Las Vegas. David is survived by his daughter Simone Loban of Seattle WA, extended family and many close friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89135. Burial will be in Glasgow Scotland.
