I did not know Mr. Anson, but I've had the pleasure of a long and enjoyable friendship with his daughter, Marie-Lou. "Pepe," together with his wife, has most certainly left a legacy of love and humanity in the form of this one extraordinary woman and I imagine in his other children and grandchildren. To all of the family and friends of Jose Gamboa Anson, I'd like to say how sorry I am for your loss. May the peace of Jesus Christ bring you comfort at this difficult time.

Going back fifty years I have so many memories of Pepe. From happy times in Manila, through tragedies and sadness to the years when we weren't in touch, I always remember Pepe fondly. I am grateful for his friendship and help over the years.
My prayers and love to everyone in the family.

my loving grandfather Jose was a very good man. he was caring, kind and considerate. he was a very good cook and fed his loved ones good food all the time.
he was also very intelligent and wise.he taught his loved ones how to be strong, have faith in God and each other. He even encouraged them to go after their dreams and taught them how to stand by each other and always be there for one another, as well as, other important life lessons.
he was an inspiration to his loved ones and others as well. he always said that with a little hard work and dedication, that you could make your dream a reality and go far in life.
he also was a hero to his family and friends, as well as others.
RIP Papa, you will always be loved and missed by all of us ... you will always remain in our hearts. we will never forget you or the memories we've shared with you. We also know you will always be watching over us all and looking down on us from heaven. sleep with the angeles and know you will always be loved.

Tito Joe, many years ago, when Tasha and I had a chance to visit with you a few days in San Francisco - we knew we had met a unique man. From the moment you began calling Tasha TATA!!! - then chuckled heartily at your own jokes... when you shared your cooking skills and fed our happy bellies... then freely shared your affection with tita Magda and with us - we knew just how special you were. Through the years, tito, you showed us just how full of love and how big your heart was. You were a gentle and genuine man. We love you, tito - and we will miss you so very much. God bless you and the family. What an honor it was to have been a part of your life.

I received the news of Tito Joe's passing with great shock and immense sadness and grief. Tito Joe had a wonderful sense of humor and was full of life. He was the most decent man I knew. We can take solace in knowing that your dad has gone to his eternal rest. He lived a faith-filled and honest life and he will be remembered for all the good things he has done. My heart goes out to all of you, my thoughts and prayers will be with all of you. May you find comfort in the outpouring of sympathy and love from all of us who share your profound loss.

We met Joe when we joined IBM Philippines in 1960 and have known him and followed his career until he retired and left for the States.
We reunited in Las Vegas and spent several momentous occasions at our group's reunions and at Magda and Joe's home. We were blessed to see him last October, 2012 when we had a small reunion and enjoyed the sumptuous meal that he prepared.
To Magda and family, we share your loss. Joe will be missed. May he rest in peace.
Paalam, Joe.

Everytime I would visit The Anson's home in California, Tito Pepe would always ask what I wanted to eat. I told him many times that we all be greatly appreciated if he would write a book on his fabulous cuisine.
He said he tried sharing his cooking with others but they had a hard time making his dish perfect like his. Then I realized that they couldn't do it because his love for cooking came from his personal "heaven". His creation for each meal came from his heart. Now how can anyone replicate that!
