Obituary of Laurence A Roberts

Laurence A Roberts, age 77, a 17 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Larry was born August 11, 1935 in Brooklyn NY to the late Benjamin and the late Helen (Goldman) Roberts. Larry had a career in education, working as an educator, school administrator and professor of Education. He loved to read and was a huge New York Mets fan. He was a founding member of the Dix Hills Jewish Center in Dix Hills NY. Larry is survived by his wife Nancy (Witover) Roberts; children Andrea (Howard) Silverstein of New Hyde Park, NY, Michael (Andrea) Roberts of New York City and Bruce (Babette) Roberts of New York City; grandchildren Hailey Silverstein, Amanda Silverstein, Bennet Roberts and Brent Roberts ; and brother David (Marlene) Roberts of New York City. A funeral service was held on December 21, 2012 at the Star of David Memorial Chapel in West Babylon, NY with burial at Mount Ararat Cemetery in Lindenhurst. Contributions in Larry's memory may be made to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
