Obituary of Albert Henry Rosten

Dr. Albert Henry Rosten, age 86, a 17 year resident of Las Vegas, died October 3, 2012. Albert was born May 25, 1926 in Detroit MI to the late Saul and the late Molly (Cutler) Rosengarten. He served in the Army during World War II and then attended the University of Michigan Dental School, where he met his wife Nancy. Al practiced dentistry for 30 years in Taylor MI, while at the same time taught at the Univ. of Detroit, Loma Linda and the Univ. of Michigan Dental Schools. Al was president of his Rotary in MI and active in many Jewish organizations. After retirement, Al and Nancy lived in Palm Springs CA and Incline Village NV. Al had a questioning mind and was a student of many interests. Once retired, Al enjoyed battery operated airplanes, ham radios, and koi ponds and was a voracious reader. Al is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; children Juli Rosten (Jack Coronel) of Las Vegas, Jill (Greg) Graflund of Memphis, TN and Jim (Rachelle) Rosten of Beverly Hills, CA; and grandchildren Joey and Cole Coronel of Las Vegas, Garrett and Cooper Rosten of Los Angeles and Alex and Ashley Graflund of Memphis. A graveside service will be in at 3:00 PM on October 5, 2012 at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The family will have a shivah minyan at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 11, 2012.
