This was one of the most bittersweet memories of my life. Our last concert together, the loss of the idea that I wouldn't be able to see someone everyday who care for me more than anyone. Later, we were even colleagues, and he showed me the grace and respect of true friendship.
A senseless loss, yet somehow he made such an impression that I'll never be able to forget him.
Thank you Bill.
Your legacy of kindness will never be forgotten.

Mr. McKoy was a really nice a funny person. He taught me how to feel more confident with my voice and always helped me have the time of my life. He made our choir feel like a family. Things were always nice when he was around. I would always look forward to coming to his class, not just for the music and singing, but because it was the one place in school I felt I could fit in. He was so nice and strict when need be. He really took care of us and I can't forget that. I will never forget what he did for me. I only wish I got to say goodbye. I really miss you. Thank you, Mr. McKoy.

Bill spent a short time with us in CT, but his impact has lasted a very long time. I remember the adventure we had when he took the WLHS Chorus to Disney to perform. Bill injured his ankle and had to use wheelchair, which every student was honored to push through the parks. His concerts were always full of surprises - most especially his Christmas Concert where he told the entire audience to stand for the Hallelujah Chorus as a sign of respect. His smile lit up the room, and his laughter made you feel joy in your heart. He was a person who really cared and listened to what you had to say. While we didn't connect in person after his move across the country, I took comfort knowing he was just a FB post away. I miss him and offer my deepest sympathy to his family.

Billy was a tremendous asset to our youth group and youth choir during the late 70's at Stithton Baptist Church. I remember giving him a pointer when he was learning to drive. "Don't stop in the middle of busy Dixie Highway to let me turn in front of you Billy". I hope that this verse read at my Mother's funeral that has brought comfort to me will for your family also. I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18. Charlie and Pam Kerr, Radcliff, KY

McKoy, became a family friend in 2007, extending his love and kindness to my husband Jerome when he became band director at Legacy HS. He was the choir teacher to both my daughter and nephew. McKoy added joy and laughter to many family holiday celebrations and trips to Laughlin as we hoped to win the lottery! Bill, we love you and will carry your friendship and memory with us forever. Rest In Peace my friend. The Tuggle and Green family.

Mr.McKoy was a wonderful person. He was my very first music and vocal coach. He taught me so much that I take with me today. He taught me how to sing in Italian and I will always be grateful to him for that. He always believed in me and he wasn’t just my vocal coach but also a family friend. He was always there when I needed to talk. He was funny, happy and always kind. I will miss him dearly, I love you Mr. McKoy Rest In Peace.

William touched my heart through his awesome voice! We attended Stithton Baptist Church in Radcliff, Kentucky together. His smile could light up any room. He was a true inspiration to myself and others! My heart aches for his Sisters and families. I know I will see him again in Heaven. He is singing in the Heavenly Choir now. May God comfort you and give you peace in this tragic time!

It was such a pleasure to work as para-professional in Bill's classroom for these past three school years, to accompany his choirs and solo students prior to that, and to know him personally! He was truly loved and admired by his students and colleagues. I treasured our friendship and our conversations - ranging from serious to silly. A bright light has gone out in our world. My sincere sympathy to his family and to all who mourn his loss.
