Obituary of Leonard Francis Beckman

Leonard Francis Beckman, beloved husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather died on June 15, 2011 at the age of 80 at his home in Las Vegas after a long illness. Len was son to the late Frank & Madge Beckman of Manistique, MI. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Sandra (Bedford) Beckman; two sisters: Marion Hewitt (MI), Ruth Taylor (MI) and one brother: Harold Beckman (MI); four children: Catherine (Beckman) Wiland (Boulder, CO), Paul Beckman (Las Vegas), Lisa (Beckman) Frost (Lathrop, CA), Patricia Beckman (Orangevale, CA); 5 grandchildren: Jason Mitchell (CA), Valerie Wiland (Las Vegas) Krystyna (Beckman) Badgley (WI), Nicole & Khorin Beckman (CA); 2 great-children: Lillyanna& Bryleigh (WI). Len was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, past volunteer of Teen Challenge (CA), and past Boy Scouts leader (MI). While on staff at Sequoyah Community Church (CA), he was active in various community church projects. He retired in January 1996 and during the past years has resided in Lake Havasu, AZ, Tucson, AZ and until his death in Las Vegas. Len will be remembered as a well-respected gentle giant of a man and will be missed by all who knew him.
