Obituary of Louis Pokat

Louis Pokat, 83, a 25 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020. Louis was born December 23, 1936 in Boston MA to the late Harry and the late Sadie Pokat. He was an accountant, who had his own accounting practice in the Boston area. After moving to Las Vegas, Louis was very involved in Bet Knesset Bamidbar, serving as President for two years. He loved everything Western and enjoyed playing golf and poker, with his long-time poker buddies. Louis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Pokat; nieces and nephews Sheri (James) Corbett, Helene (William) Needham and Neal (Julie) Pokat; great nieces and nephews Benjamin and Elisa Needham and Zachary and Isaac Pokat; sister in law Benita Pokat; and brothers in law Stanley (Kathy) Abrams, Louis Abrams and Leonard (Jan) Abrams. He is very recently predeceased by his brother David Pokat. A graveside service will be held at Palm Northwest Cemetery.
