Dear Maureen, I am so sorry. You have lost your wonderful other half who you met when you were a young beautiful girl. I am remembering those times when I first met him and how he paid attention to us young ones. What a wonderful life you have had together, always able to work things out together. A wonderful marriage. I will be sending you a letter as soon as I can.
J.P. and Colleen, my heart goes out to you. You have lost your wonderful father. I am so sorry.
Remember we all love you very much.I will be trying to visit you as soon as things settle down for you and hopefully the coronavirus won't impede our ability to come. All my love, Patty

Dear Maureen, J.P. & Colleen - I am so saddened to hear the news of Joe‘s passing. Sending huge hugs and prayers to you all, and to those thousands of lives that were touched by Joe! I am grateful to be one of them! I will never forget our many years at Presentation together, or how you took me in that summer after hs graduation. Joe and I remained close pen-pals while I was in California, and his letters always brought me comfort, with great advice and wisdom! I also remember a number of golf training aids in your garage, so I hope those came in handy during Joe’s retirement years! :-) Sending you all love and prayers during this very difficult time. Joe was one of the best, and I am blessed to have known him and all of you!! God bless!! Xoxo, Anny

A warm hello to the McKenna family. Joe was such an important part of my life for many of the years we lived around the corner from each other. I'm so grateful for his guidance and friendship and humor . . . and loved that we stayed in touch through letters and occasional phone calls (and eventually emails) over the years. He knew how to live this life, and he knew how to love so deeply. Maureen, Joe, Colleen, I'm thinking of you so very much.

Although not a teen or young person, Joe helped me through a very stressful time while working. I can still hear his words which made an impact. His caring will always be remembered as very special. My love. Maggie.

Maureen, J.P. and Colleen – my most sincere love and condolences to you on the loss of your amazing Husband and Father. As I remember Joe and say my prayers for him and your family, my heart is full. I can instantly see his great smile and warm eyes that always seemed to have a glint in them. Igniting laughter and kindness in all. Joe had a way of inspiring me personally throughout my life, to be better, do better, go big and beyond. Often times, like a second Father to me. I always wanted to make him proud and very much valued his guidance. Through all of Joe’s roles in my life, as Confirmation Sponsor, Friend/Mentor and then with you, Maureen, as our Pre-Cana Leaders, he challenged and encouraged me. He also kept me in check with his refreshing honesty. Reminding me that I am a “passionate” person as he loved to say – a term my husband still quotes Joe on. Teaching me the importance of staying humble and kind. Thank you for sharing Joe with us. It was an absolute honor to know him. I feel forever blessed to have had him as a part of my life and will continue to take all of the values he instilled in me with me and my family. May God bless you all and may you keep seeing rainbows from Joe. All my love, Leslie

Joe and Maureen you both literally saved my life in so many ways. I’m so sorry for your loss Maureen and JP. From my high school years when you helped redo my house, to helping me with college, to when Joe coached me through fundraising so I could travel in Up with people through Pre-Cana, or wedding homily, guiding us in early family life, and coaching me in my first job. I know I’m one of hundreds he’s had an impact on, but Joe has made a significant, life changing impact on my life - as have you Maureen. No matter what happens in life, I’ll never forget and always appreciate all you have done for me. Many prayers and all my love for you during this time.

" Death is the next great adventure." - J.K. Rowling
Dear Maureen, Colleen and Jp,
When I saw this quote I thought, this is Joe! He was a man who lived life to the fullest, and in death, he will do the same.
We always admired Joe for his strength of character, for having such a positive impact on those who crossed his path, for his kind heart and commitment to others, for the depth of his faith, for the love of his family, for the ever present twinkle in his eye, and always, for his incredible sense of humor! He touched so many lives and did so much good. He was someone so special and will forever live on...May all the beautiful memories you share be a blessing and source of comfort to you all. He will always be walking beside you, and knowing Joe, he will continue leaving many signs to let you know he is at peace and basking in wonders of eternal life.
Sending prayers and our deepest sympathy,
June and Paul Truedson

Joe and Maureen McKenna were very instrumental in being present to me and helping me navigate young adulthood. They were great leaders at The Church of the Presentation Youth Ministry. They helped countless teens and young adults as well. Joe helped myself, and many others, in finding a career path. Giving and loving people who cared greatly for others. I can still hear Joe saying to all the teens.."I'm 100 freakin years old!" I can hear him talking about walking the walk and about the highs and the lows, the dying and the rising. I send my love and sympathy to JP and Colleen, and especially to his wonderful wife Maureen. I may not have seen you in years, but you hold a very special place in my heart. Rest in peace Joe McKenna ♡

There is a lifetime of memories...
It’s seems my Uncle Joe has always been there~ from pulling nickels from behind my ears when I was little, to letting me vacation with them in NC when I was 16, to treating me to dinners or a show in Vegas & of course the amazing VIP Bellagio experience & their Vegas Anniversary
Wonderful memories! Uncle Joe always went above & beyond to be sure everyone was having a good time & if you were ever troubled Uncle Joe reached out to try to help~ the world has lost another hero

I knew Joe through his work at Presentation. I had the pleasure of being in his small group during the annual Antioch retreat. Joe gave me, and our whole group, my first pair of Argyle socks. We all commented on his so during a break he ran to the store to buy 8 more pair so we matched.
I greatly enjoyed his leadership, kindness and ability to relate to teenagers. I also had the pleasure of knowing Maureen and JP who are equally great people and always were present at the youth ministry events. I’m sending prayers to this great family for your loss of Joe.
Warmly,
Mark Tower

We talked nearly every day. Often on Speaker so Joanne could enjoy the repartee. How I will miss my good friend.
God Bless you Joe, and thank you for allowing me to be your friend.
This was one of his favorite pictures I took on a visit a few years ago. Joe and Maureen set a wonderful example for us of living and loving one another. God Bless you Maureen, J.P., and Colleen, we are so sorry for your loss.
