Four of us Troopers hung out with Eddie at Ft Bragg, cruising to Mrytle Beach SC just about every summer weekend. We would wash and clean up his cool '60 Black Chevy rag top trimmed in a gaudy red, throw in our beach gear, cold beer and snacks. Cranking up the radio, the wind whipping us silly and just taking in the scenery will always be some of the fondness memories with my time in Easy Company.
Eddie was, of course, the leader of the pack, always, and marvelous times were enjoyed by all as we all knew that chilling with him was gonna be mucho funno.
God speed my brother; I just know you're cracking jokes and living it up as when we were all together yesterday.

I don’t know what made me think of Eddy…but when I look up his name, and saw that he had passed on, I just wanted to drop you a note.. I knew the Ferdman's when we were neighbors in Chicago (Albany Park). I just want to say what wonderful people they were. Molly was like a second mother to me. I used to go to their house to watch Tv before we had one. Now, about Eddy… I idolized him! He was the big brother I never had. He was about five years older than I… but he tolerated me, even when I tagged along with him and his friends. We used to go "hunting" in the prairie next door (a 25 foot empty lot)..the boys and little tomboy Linda…I was maybe about six). Don’t remember who moved first, I think they did, it’s been about 70 years… nice memories…please tell Marsha that I’m sorry. I was with the boys who chased her down Avers Avenue with a dead garter snake on a stick,
Fondly.
