Obituary of Donna Ruth Marlow

Donna Ruth Marlow, age 70, of North Las Vegas, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Donna was born November 5, 1949 in Seneca OK to the late Emmett and the late Pauline Foster. Donna graduated Wyandotte HS, Class of '68, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Nazarene University '98. Donna was a strong, intelligent woman. She was the first member of her family to obtain a college diploma at the age of 48. Donna worked as a Training Specialist for the State of Oklahoma. She married Herman Marlow on January 16, 1976, and lived in Miami OK. Donna enjoyed traveling with Herman, and together they experienced over 25 cruises to different parts of the world. They saw all 50 states, and visited 15 countries in Central and South America. She especially enjoyed her trips to Alaska, and seeing Christ the Redeemer monument in Brazil. The youngest of 7 children, Donna loved to tell stories to her grandkids about her childhood, her Mom and family. She also enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Donna loved her family tremendously and loved playing board games with her grandkids and could play a mean game of Uno! Donna was the great matriarch of the family and always kept the family close, even though her children were scattered all over the country. She tried her best to attend the grandkid's events regardless of the miles between them. She was a fantastic Granny! Donna is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Herman Marlow of North Las Vegas; children Paula (Jay) Robertson of Collinsville OK; Penni (Bode) Olatunde of Arlington TX; Joey (Sherry) Marlow of Las Vegas and Jason (Kimberlee) Marlow of Tempe AZ; grandchildren Jake Robertson, Maddox and Layla Olatunde and Brooklyn, Jackson and Reese Marlow; and siblings Gary Foster of Miami OK and Norma Prater of Wyandotte OK. She is predeceased by her father Emmett Foster; her mother Pauline Foster; three sisters Joyce Hoover, Venda Conduff, and Betty Friend; and one brother George Foster. A visitation will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2019, from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM, both at The Crossing Church 7950 W Windmill Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89113. Achalasia.us "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded." ? Ralph Waldo Emerson
