Obituary of Raymond Payson Wootten

Raymond P. Wootten, age 80, a 12 year resident of North Las Vegas, died Thursday, December 5, 2019. Ray was born January 2, 1939 in New York NY to the late Francis and the late Ruth Wootten. He lived in the Bronx and once married moved to Stanhope NJ where he lived for 48 years before moving to North Las Vegas. He served as a Stanhope Councilman for 25 years and was on the Musconetcong Sewage Authority for 18. Ray worked for Associated Testing Labs, where they tested equipment for NASA, and then opened his own business in Queens, All Star Electrical Supply. After selling his business, he worked for Chester Lighting in Chester NJ until retirement. Ray enjoyed politics and coin collecting. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Helen Wootten; children Suzanne (Guy) Menta of New Jersey, Michele Wootten of New Jersey and Jill (Jeff) Wyman of Connecticut; and grandchildren Kyle Menta, Danielle Menta, Katelyn Longo, Christina Longo, Ian Ruchlin and Kira Ruchlin.
