Obituary of Ludmila Rud-Friedman

Ludmila Rud-Friedman passed away November 2, 2019 (4 Cheshvan 5780) 8:30 in the morning on Shabbat due to complications arising from cancer which struck her quickly. She was 57 years old and a resident of Las Vegas. She was born on February 14, 1962 in the city of Nikopol, Ukraine in the former Soviet Union. She was an only child, her mother was Maria Rud (Zalihina) and her father was Emil Rud. She was educated in Ukraine finishing secondary school and technical college, receiving a diploma. She emigrated to Israel in 1991 and became an Israeli citizen living in the north at Kibbutz Metzar. She moved to the Negev at Midreshet Ben Gurion (Sede Boqer). She was a technician working at the Jacob Blaustein Institute of Desert Research where she met an American graduate research student attending Ben Gurion University in Beersheva. Ludmila Rud-Friedman and Robert Paul Friedman were married under the Chuppa in Arad, Israel August 5, 1993 under the authority of Rabbi Benzion Lipsker chief rabbi of Arad. She emigrated to the USA with her husband Robert in 1995 starting a new career in the arts, fashion and choreography. She gave birth to a son Alan Emil Friedman in Naperville, Illinois on January 30, 1998. She relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003 then to Orlando, Florida in 2011, returning there in 2018. She returned to dear friends in Las Vegas in a new condominium she found, and loved living her life in happiness, wellbeing and good health until she became ill. She passed away on her own terms in peace. She will be long remembered by family and friends for her free and determined spirit, her love and knowledge of arts, spirituality, beauty and the mountains and love for her son, family, and friends. She is survived by her son Alan Friedman who lives in Orlando, Florida attending the University of Central Florida. She has family relatives in Israel mainly in Arad, Erfurt, Germany and Paris, France. Her parents have passed away, her mother Maria Rud in 2013 and her Father Emil Rud in 2015 in Arad Israel. Mila was buried on Thursday Nov 7 at the Bunker Memory Gardens Memorial Park at the Jewish cemetery; address 7251 West Lone Mountain Road Las Vegas NV. Her simple but moving burial service attended by family and friends was led by Rabbi Chaim Metal of Chabad of Summerlin, her son’s Bar Mitzvah teacher in 2011.
