Obituary of Leonard Krane

Leonard Krane, 93, of Las Vegas died Wednesday, January 23, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Leonard was born July 29, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the Army, loved being in the Army Air Force, and was stationed in Ft. Sill, OK during WWII. After leaving the service, he learned to fly airplanes. Leonard and Arlene were married in Westfield, New Jersey on December 5,1965 and were together 54 years. He worked as an Industrial Engineer for Mattel and Westinghouse. Later, he moved into the travel business, eventually owning two travel agencies. He moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1995 to enjoy retirement. Once here, he planned a lot of trips for our Las Vegas Chapter of Brandeis University, organizing many happy and memorable journeys. For leisure, he enjoyed rebuilding vintage cars (especially his beloved Corvette) and playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Krane; his four sons, Barry Krane, Andy (Sue) Krane, Steve Levi, and Mitch (Susan) Krane; and his daughter, Elise Levi. He is also survived by his brother Bill (Joan) Krane and his sister Rita Tracey. He was a beloved grandfather to his seven grandchildren Rachael, David, Laura, Josh, Nathan, Jenn, and Steph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sabina and Harry Blumenkranz. A memorial service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, February 1 at Kraft Sussman Funeral & Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147. He will be greatly missed, he was loved by all, he was a nice and gentle man.
