Obituary of Alita Ascencion Acero

Alita Ascencion Acero, 57, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on December 21, 2018 at Summerlin Hospital. Alita was born on May 11th, 1961 in Quezon City, Philippines to Sofronio Acero and Rebecca De Gracia. She attended William Cullen Bryant High School and graduated in 1979. She went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Borough of Manhattan Community College. She received a Certificate of Honor in Recognition of Nursing Award for Best All Around Competence. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Elmhurst Hospital for 12 years, Bellevue Hospital for 5 years, and Summerlin Hospital for 5 years. She enjoyed singing, shopping, working out, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her children. Alita was a wonderful nurse, wife, sister, friend, and mother. She devoted her entire life to her husband and her 5 children, 3 of which are registered nurses, like her, 1 pursuing a degree in health administration, and the youngest on track to enroll into nursing school. She inspired all her children to continue her legacy by pursuing careers in healthcare. Alita was the glue that kept her family together and happy. She was a great influence and an inspiration to others. She had an infectious smile and an open and loving heart to those who have met her. Alita is survived by her husband, Roger, her children, Ryan, Ronn, Rae, Ross, and Roy, and her sisters Cecilia and Minnie. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sofronio and Rebecca. Visitation will be held at Kraft-Sussman Funeral & Cremation Services, 3975 S. Durango Drive, Suite 104, Las Vegas, NV 89147 on Thursday, December 27 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Kraft-Sussman Funeral & Cremation Services on Friday, December 28 at 1:00PM.
