Dearest family,
My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all at this time!
I am a flight attendant just a few weeks junior to Marci. I didn’t meet her immediately, but had the pleasure of flying a couple of “fun-filled” trips with her while I was based in Detroit in 1991-92. Once I transferred back to MSP, I rarely saw her, but when we did see each other we made it count! Whenever one of us saw the other across the concourse of some random airport we would loudly call out to the other...”Gretchen!” or ”Marci”.. and even if we were going different directions on a moving walkway, we would find a way to get reach to each other for a quick BIG HUG and a little girl gossip!
As you know, Marci was an amazing woman! In those random airports walking across the concourses, there were times when I had been tired and having a hard day (don’t we all?). But one look at her bright & beautiful smile, sparkling eyes, and receiving one of her warm hugs, always made my heart sing and my sore feet walk a little lighter! :)
I am SO grateful that I had the pleasure of knowing Marci in some small way. She touched the lives of many people, and I share in your grief of a special soul lost too soon!!!
Respectfully,
Gretchen Kramer

My sweet beautiful friend Marci,
I am devastated to learn of your passing. I was so proud of you the day you returned to Delta after suffering from your stroke. You were scared and timid but determined. Then to learn that your beloved husband and remained on this earth just long enough to get you well before he returned home to our Heavenly Father was more than you could bear. I remember your grieving words. “Why didn’t he take you?” But your husband needed to go first so he would be there ready to greet you and help you transition from this world to the next. We love you, I will miss you but take comfort knowing you are at peace together with Your husband. Together forever.
Till we meet again my sweet friend
Hillary xxx

I had the pleasure of working with Marci on her very first trip back after her brain aneurysm. I was shocked when she told me about her illness, as it had no impact on her work whatsoever; she performed all tasks with joy and dignity. While on the trip, I talked with Marci about her recovery journey and how so many people stood by her side to beat the statistics and predictions of medical personnel. I have been moved to tears very few times in my life, but this was one of them. I am saddened to hear of her passing and wish her family comfort and grace during this time.

It is will a very heavy heart and sadness I send this to morn the loss of my friend Marci and myself went through Braniff training together, we were friends then, through that whole ordeal, then when I saw her at Northwest we gave each other a big hug, and from then on we were always linked together. She was a excellent co worker friend and human being, never did I ever see her down or mean in any way to anyone. I will miss her deeply, I send prayers to her family and will keep them in my thoughts this holiday season

Marci was a great friend and influence in my life since we met working at the Burnsville Ground Round in 1987. And we certainly had some great times! Touched playing Black Betty provided a lifelong memory trigger which lead to many texts and calls over the years. RIP Marci. You and Chris will never be forgotten. Love ya!

There is a lifetime of laughter with this girl - too many stories to type here. I love the way her shoulders shook when she laughed - especially when she was trying to laugh quietly, so as not to get us in trouble. I remember a time in 8th grade when we exchanged Secret Santa gifts on the basketball team. I kept getting lame clown figurines and confided in Marci, telling her how much I hated clowns. At Christmas when the Secret Santa names were revealed, I discovered it was HER who was getting me the gifts! She, at first, didn't know I hated clowns, but kept buying them for me after learning how they creeped me out!
Another great memory is when we went through the Arby's drive through in a grocery cart. I was crammed down in the basket while Marci sat in the upper part. Our friend, Monique, was working the drive through. I will attach the photo of that zany day!
I am blessed to have been part of Marci's unconditional love and lifelong friendship. Her legacy lives on in the rich memories I cherish.

YEAR: 1984
Marci convinced me to get into the grocery cart while she sat up high. Amy pushed us through the Arby's drive through while Monique helped us at the window. There's a first for everything!

Although I'd only flown with this lovely lady once or twice, I have seen her countless times. I would only be a tiny blip on her radar, but it always hits home and hurts any fellow flight attendant that someone of their own group has been ill or hurting, for any reason. I offer my sincere condolences to anyone who loved and knew her.

I still remember the day Chris and Marci were married. Chris was so moved during the wedding ceremony-in fact moved to tears. Their love for each other was beyond what most people ever experience. My deepest sympathy to all the family members of Marci. She was a very special Lady.

Marci is such a beautiful soul. I shared many laughs with her. I will never forget her smile, love, and of course her love for mascara. I use to tease her that I was going to buy stock in Maybeline. I am so sad for the loss of her and wish I would have reached out to her during these difficult times. Please know all of you are in my thoughts and prayers....She had a heart of gold and I will forever be thankful that I had the honor of being her friend and enjoying high school laughs together...including senior skip day....Hugs and prayers to all of you

Dear Olson family,
When I think about Marci, I think about Fun childhood memories playing with dolls, playing with Barbies, playing dress-up, making up dances, going to the little park, going to the wooden park, sledding in your backyard, climbing up the steep steps to your front door, Playing hide and go seek in your basement for Marci’s birthday party.
I remember making sure there wasn’t any peanut butter in any of the food that I gave her.
I had a waterbed that Marci loved and when we moved out of the neighborhood Marci got it.
When we got into middle school, I remember Marci and Marilyn waiting at the bottom of the driveway for me to give me a ride to school.
When I saw her at Chris’s celebration of life, we have, she cried, she told me to wait around because she had other people to talk to as well but she wanted to talk to me again. We talked again, she had some fatigue and I encouraged her to eat at the prompting of her mother. She told me about returning to work as a flight attendant. She said it was hard, really really hard. She said she didn’t think that she was gonna be able to live in Las Vegas anymore.
I watched her walk away at the end of the night and I told her that she was a walking miracle! She truly was! You couldn’t even see it in her gait! If you didn’t know or you wouldn’t know that she was moving a little bit more slowly.
I truly appreciate all the times that we spent together as friends and feel that it’s a blessing from the Lord that we all got to live in the same neighborhood!
Marcy was a kind hearted, hard-working, and always had a smiling face!

I flew with Marci many times and had many wonderful discussions with her over the years relating to my position in the flight attendants union at Northwest. I can't recall a more kind, gentle and sweet woman. She had a grace and warmth that was almost angelic. I'm so sorry for your loss - all my love and thoughts are extended to her family and loved ones.

Mrs. Olson and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Even though I haven't seen Marci in years I have such great memories of her growing up in Burnsville. From her first coming to big brother Randy's games and cheering us on to watching her excel at skating; always put a smile on my face. That smile started from her being such a fan and then being a fan of her skating. Marci represented what was good in all of us. She will never be forgotten. I know I am so much better off for having known and grown up with such a great family as yours. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve
