Obituary of Christopher "Chris" Ray Gross

Christopher Ray Gross, age 52, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away on September 30th, 2018. Christopher was born August 30th, 1966, in Libertyville, IL to Raymond and Bernice Gross. Chris has two loving sisters here on earth (Kathy and Theresa) and one Angel sister (Carmen) who welcomed him in to Heaven. Chris graduated from Bloomington Jefferson High School (MN) in 1984 and remains a student in the School of Rock "If there's a Rock and Roll Heaven". Chris married Marci Olson in August of 1992 beginning a true love story not to be matched by many. This is a man who is loved by everyone he came into contact with. His generosity and love for others had no bounds. For his longtime friends and family it was always wonderful to see him meet and welcome someone new into the awesome kingdom of Chris. It reminded us of how good he made us feel when we first met him. Chris was just as passionate about his profession. He started his work life in the family bakery, then with McGlynns Bakery, CSM and through to his current position as Technical Rep for Brill Inc. Workmates, bakers and bosses all continue to benefit from Chris's friendship, his knowledge, his experience and his artistry. Chris loved life and people! He was a doer, he had unlimited interests and was always ready to participate in activities with others, he loved his poker parties, times with family, hanging with friends, telling family memories, and sharing times at the casinos. Chris had a tremendous sense of humor and was very quick with a smile and laugh. He had an innate sense of how to put someone at ease. He loved telling funny stories about his participation in things, or telling stories about watching someone else participating. He was a great storyteller and always very inquisitive and truly interested about other people's lives. Chris had other interests too; He LOVED music - Classic Rock, Hair Bands and Country were his favorites. He had a slight addiction to reality Cop shows. Chris studied Southwestern and Native American culture, loved animals, liked crafting, and loved preparing over the top amounts of Christmas decorations, much of which were created by him. For Chris, his favorite lifetime achievement was living his dream in Fabulous Las Vegas with his soulmate, Marci, by his side. Marci's favorite life achievement is loving this wonderful man - and she truly does love him with all her heart. Chris is survived by his wife Marci (nee Olson), mother Bernice Gross, sisters Kathy Sande (Bryan), and Theresa Livingston. Nephews Clint Livingston, Ken Olson, and Collin Olson. Niece Ellen Pechacek and many, many "honorary nieces and nephews". He is proceeded in death by Father Ray Gross (2004) and sister Carmen Pechacek (2009).
