Obituary of Lora June Jackson

Lora J. Jackson Born: January 4, 1944; in Mazon, IL Died: September 23, 2018; in Las Vegas, NV Lora J. Jackson, age 74, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Born Jan. 4, 1944 in Mazon, IL, to the late Erwin and Velma (nee Finch) Lee. Lora retired from Caterpillar IAM (Joliet, IL) after 30 years of dedicated service. She has resided in Las Vegas for the past 22 years. Lora cherished her family and especially loved spending time with her grand kids and great grandson. Lora is survived by her children, Anthony (Carrie) Lee (IL), Gary (Amy) Lee (IL), and Brenda Mejia (nee Lee) (NV); step-children, Sally Jackson (FL), Pam Jackson (VA), James Jackson (NV) and Jennifer Schmiedeberg (nee Jackson) (NV); her loving grandchildren, Tanner and Taitum Lee, Ryan, Dylan and Jayden Lee, Marissa Mejia, Jordyn and Joshua Gobrick; and numerous step-grandchildren; great-grandson, Jonah Jung; and numerous step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Scott (IL) and Betty Griffith (PA); numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; three brothers, Ralph Lee, Robert Lee and Richard Lee; two sisters, Mary Ellen Punke and Ann Williams; and two stepchildren, Sandy Jackson and Wendy Vorhees (nee Jackson). Per Lora's request, cremation services were performed by Kraft & Sussman Funeral Home. A "celebration of life" will be held in Mazon, IL at a later date. Published in The Herald-News on Sept. 26, 2018
