Cass Ketner

Obituary of Cass Dewey Ketner

Cass (Casey) Ketner died September 13 unexpectedly during a brief illness. He was 49. His family and friends will miss his perseverance, wit and creativity, strong work ethic, and his love for language, cooking, comedy and nature. Even in the midst of life's many challenges, his humor came through loud and clear. His musical tastes and love for comedy spanned cultures, time periods and defied labels, favorites being Bob Marley, Janis Joplin, Hawaiian ukelele. He earned a BA in Computer Science and MS from Boston University in Database Administration with an emphasis in security. There was almost nothing he couldn't do with technology, and he was patient with family and friends as he tried to help them learn to use new technology. He was an incredible carpenter, photographer and innovator. He could even reassemble most of the small appliances he took apart to fix, minus a spring or an extra screw or two. His wry sense of humor brought a lot of joy to his friends and family. He had an unquenchable sense of adventure and lived his life to its fullest. He was thoughtful, considerate, and complicated and overcame life's many hurdles. May he be at peace now, free of pain. Thank you to all who touched his spirit and colorful life with your friendship and love, or supported his efforts in whatever ways you could. His family is heartbroken and he will be deeply missed forever. His family is heartbroken and he will be deeply missed forever.
