Obituary of Bernard Ira Miller

Bernard Ira Miller, age 87, a 14 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018. Bernie, as he was affectionately called, was born March 31, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Max and the late Ida (Zuravin) Miller. He grew up on a dairy farm in Nassau NY, his house was the first in the area to have an indoor bathroom. Bernie graduated from Columbia HS in Rensselear NY and soon after started his 38 year career with the State of New York. Working in many different departments, Bernie helped bring the State into the computer age. He enjoyed pistol shooting with local gun clubs, bowling, photography, bridge and all card games. He was a member of Temple Bet Emet, serving as Treasurer for a number of years. Bernie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Miller; children Ellen (Neil) Edmundson of Woodenville WA, Augusta (Scott) Ginsburg of Andover MA, Dr. Marc (Dr. Cindy Sites) Starer of E. Long Meadow MA, and Michelle (Ian Young) Starer of E. Greenbush NY and Valerie Starer of Las Vegas; son in law Shane Page; grandchildren Rebecca (Jason) Berman, Anne Edmundson, Alexandra Edmundson, Emma Ginsburg, Daniel Starer, Taylor Page, Leila Page, and Ivy Page and brother Seymour Miller. He is predeceased by his first wife Anne Miller and brother Irving Miller. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Bunkers Memory Gardens Cemetery, 7251 W.
