Obituary of Solon Stephen Ripkin

Solon Stephen Ripkin, age 85, of Las Vegas passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010. Solon was born December 15, 1924 in New York NY to the late Jacob and the late Jeanette (Cohen) Ripkin. Solon served in the Army Air Force, followed by a career in Real Estate as a realtor and mortgage broker. He was an active volunteer with the Las Vegas Police Department and will be remembered as the greatest joke teller of all time. Solon is survived by his wife of 41 years, Susan Brittan (Krim) Ripkin; children Douglas (Cindy) Ripkin of Cleveland OH, Sharon Ripkin of Atlantic Highlands NJ, Stephen (Liz) Lyon of San Diego CA, Mark Lyon of Williams OR and Sandra (Neil) Lasher of Dix Hills NY; and his grandchildren David, Samantha, Nikki, Rick, Renee and Leonardo. The Funeral Service will be at 10:40 AM on Monday, November 15 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd, Boulder City, NV. Shiva will follow through Tuesday at the Ripkin home, with minyan at 7:30 PM each night.
