Six years have passed since Jim left us, and every day his generosity of spirit is remembered. There is a hole in my heart the shape of Jim, and it will be filled when I see him again. Until that time Jim is honored, loved, and mourned as the dynamic and life changing force he was to those of us who greatly loved him. We were truly blessed to have known Jim Melsek.

Jim was a patriot who served his country well for over 20 years before "retiring" to Las Vegas. Caring, giving, and an all around good man. He will be missed.

Jim I'm glad I got the chance to spend some time with you in recent weeks. You continued to greet everyone with your big smile. In Belfast when we have visitors and they are about to leave, we have an expression to send them safely on their way. So as you set off on your final journey Jim ....,,,,....safe home. x

Jim was a truly remarkable friend and generous to so many. He was a very humble man and we didn't know about the silver star he earned twice no less, until he fell ill. I will miss you my friend and promise to take care of the love of your life, Susan. Love you Jim. I will miss you.

It was my pleasure to meet Jim way too many years ago through Susan. He was a kind, considerate, funny and fun guy; a true gentle-man. When I visited Vegas, Jim was a fun guide to sites and eateries and a good source for comps. He was a gracious host as was his long-term, steadfast partner, my dear friend Susan Secrest. My deepest sympathies to Susan and Jim's Family. May he linger forever in your memories.E
