Obituary of Melvin Friedenberg

Melvin Friedenberg, age 91, of Las Vegas, died Monday, February 22, 2016. Melvin was born December 5, 1924 in Detroit MI to the late Louis Phillip and the late Jane (Haberman) Friedenberg. As a young man, Melvin enjoyed playing Roof Ball, and hanging out with this friends. He enlisted in the Navy, and when Pearl Harbor was attacked, his ship, the USS Richmond Cruiser, was on the other side of the world, too far from the fighting to participate. He visited Hawaii twice a year for many years after that attack. Melvin was a hardworking man, and a devoted husband with a great sense of humor. He could often be heard saying "If you're going to do a job, do it right" or "Ask me no question, I'll tell you no lies." Melvin is survived by his wife of almost 69 years, Norien (Weinstein) Friedenberg; children Louis (Sydney), Steve (Bonnie), Susan (Rick) and Howard (Debbie); grandchildren Michael (Carly), Dustin (Jeanette), Devin (Lindsay), Kali (John), April (Damon), Nicole (Sal), Jonathan, Sarah and Megan; great grandchildren Tyler, Ashley, Preston, Noah, Rachel, Eddie, Andrew, Kera and Logan; and sister, Ethel Zieve. The funeral will be at held 8:00 am on Friday, February 26, 2016 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
