Obituary of Anita Brodsky

Anita Brodsky, aka "Hanchie", age 92, lastly of Las Vegas, passed on February 7, 2016. She was born in the home of her parents, Abraham and Jenny "Elsie" Richman on June 16, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, the 7th of 8 children. She married Morris Brodsky and they had two children: Janet and Steven. As a young woman, she roller-skated for Western Union. She was later trained as a Teletype operator and worked for many years on Wall Street. She was a voluntar leader, organizer and fundraiser for children and adults with disabilities. She was kind and generous, and those who knew her descried her as a "sweet, wonderful lady." She was direct with a "no nonsense" attitude. She was quick witted, with a "salty" sense of humor. She is survived by her daughter Janet, son-in-law Joseph, grandchildren Marshall and Raquel, and Ariella and Shane, numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, and grand dogs: Taz, Benji, Maya, Bowser and Spanky. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 3:30pm at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services, 3975 S Durango #104, Las Vegas, Nevada 89147. Shiva will be held at 7300 Alta Drive on Wednesday. February 10, 2016 from 1pm-5pm. Interment will be at New Montefiore Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York on February 12, 2016. She will be sorely missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to include organizations for children with autism.
