Obituary of Daniel James Buchanan

Daniel James Buchanan was born on September 24, 1996 in San Diego, California to Lucinda and Devin Buchanan. He was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived there from 2001 until 2014 when he moved with his family to Morehead City, North Carolina. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At 6'3", he played defensive end for Centennial High School in Las Vegas. Skateboarding was Daniel's passion and he planned on being a professional skateboarder. He worked at Bert's Surf Shop in Atlantic Beach, NC. He enjoyed playing with his younger siblings and was always the life of the party. Daniel loved to listen to all genres of music and played piano by ear. Daniel graduated from West Carteret High School in Morehead City in 2014. Daniel lost his battle with depression on November 30, 2015, at only 19 years old; he will be forever in our hearts. He is survived by his parents, Lucinda and Devin Buchanan; brothers, Jared, Jeb (Jacob Edward), and Matthew; sisters, Abigail, Madeleine, and Jocelyn, all of Morehead City, North Carolina; grandmother, Cindy (Sunshine) Addiss of San Diego, California; great-grandmother, Lillian Addiss of Pleasant Garden, North Carolina. Daniel is also survived by many beloved family members and friends. We will celebrate Daniel's life with services that will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 8801 W. Alexander Road, December 9th at 1:00 PM.
