Yothin Ratanapeanchai

Obituary of Yothin Ratanapeanchai

Our loving Daddy, Yothin Ratanapeanchai, 64, passed away in his sleep in his home in Las Vegas, surrounded by family on Wednesday, November 18, after a heroic fight with cancer. Yothin was born October 27, 1951 in Bangkok, Thailand. He graduated from West Virginia University with a Master degree in Civil Engineering and worked as a civil/structural engineer for over 30 years. He retired from Clark County in 2013 after working there for over 17 years. He moved to Honolulu and worked for the State of Hawaii where he enjoyed all of the island water activities. Yothin also enjoyed traveling, camping, and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Yothin is survived by his wife, Nirla of 38 years; his 2 daughters, Tida Watkins and Jarin Ratanapeanchai; son-in-law, Daniel Watkins Jr.; 2 grandchildren Karson and Baby Ryan; 3 sisters and 1 brother; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Yothin was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend. A private ceremony was held at the family's residence. We ask that you pray for Yothin and make a memorial donation in his name to the American Cancer Society. A special thank you to Daddy's hospice CNA, Ayo, for all of your patience and kindness towards Daddy. He appreciated everything that you did for him. Thank you to all of Daddy's coworkers at the State of Hawaii for donating your sick leave so that Daddy could come back home to us. "Daddy, we will miss you always and forever and will see you soon in Heaven."
