Obituary of Samuel F Newman

Samuel F Newman, age 81, of North Las Vegas, died Monday, November 9, 2015. Samuel was born February 10, 1934 in Perzanow, Poland to the late Moishe and the late Rivka Leah (Golondziner) Najman. A survivor of the Holocaust, his family escaped to Russia during WWII, where they were all separated. He and his younger sister and brother lived in 3 separate orphanages. After the War, he returned to Poland and lived in another orphanage, where he met his wife, Judy. They moved to Israel in 1957, where he worked as a graphic artist. He served in the Israeli and Polish armies. Samuel continued his work in graphic design after moving to New York City in 1968. They moved to Las Vegas in 2003 after he retired. Samuel enjoyed stamp collecting and investing in the stock market as a licensed stock broker. Samuel is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Newman; daughter Anat Frey; and sisters Ziwia Liverant and Hava Fajneizen. He was separated from brother Anshel Najman during the war and they have no knowledge of whether he is living or deceased. Samuel is predeceased by his son Eran Chaim Newman. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Boulevard North, 89101. Contributions in Samuel's memory may be made to Chabad of Southwest Las Vegas or Temple Beth Sholom. .
