Obituary of Joan Marie Pablo

Joan Marie Pablo 81, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Joan was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, but has been in Las Vegas for over 20 years. Joan graduated from Joseph S. Clark High School, 1952, in New Orleans, LA. Joan interests included family, gardening, and reading, but her passion was Barbering. She graduated from Katie’s School of Beauty Culture and Barbering, as one of the first African-American female to have graduated as a Barber in New Orleans. She moved to New York and worked at the House of Ashanti Barber Shop as a Barber. Joan also pursued a career as a fashion model and graced the pages of several magazines. Several years later Joan moved west to sunny California and work at Magnificent Brother Barber Shop on Crenshaw Blvd, Los Angeles, CA until she retired. Joan Marie Pablo leaves her loving memories to be cherished by 2 children: daughter Pamela A. Barriere and son Gregory P. (Chartreuse) Barriere; her loving sister Vivian Pablo Chanldler and brothers, Ellis (Madelyn) Pablo; and Melvin (Lillian) Pablo; Grandchildren Julian Barriere, Cicely Thomas, Qiana Thomas, Jared (Kimberly) Barriere, Jasept (Que) Barriere, Ayanna Barriere, Azalia Barriere, Joash Barriere, and Eleven Barriere; Great-Grandchildren: Jacinta Fitzwater, Julianne Barriere, Justis Barriere, Justice Barriere, Isaiah Barriere, Mariah Barriere, Christopher Patterson, Erin Presley, and Mikai Green; Great-Great Grandchildren: Grayson Barriere, Khitai Barriere and Khaliq Barriere; and Nieces & Nephews: Kimberly Poindexter, Tammy Chandler, Darren Chandler, Duane Chandler, Tiny Chandler, Arnold Pablo, Adriana Pablo Ricketts, Krishnan Pablo and Zuleika Pablo. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her son Paul J. Barriere III (also known as “Hifi” by the family) and her parents Arnold and Irene Pablo.
