Obituary of Mary Sedillo Sandoval

Mary Olivia Sedillo Sandoval "Nana" as known to us all. Born on January 25, 1923 to Raquel Baca and Eloy Sedillo in Belen New Mexico she departed this earth on her journey on June 26, 2015 at the age of 92. She is survived by her children Rachel Starr, Manuel Sandoval, Teresa Morgan, and Bertha Martinez. Her many grandchildren Antoinette Gray, John "Yogi" Heredia, Phillip Heredia, Candace Starr, Tracy Sandoval, Mandy Lucas, Jamie Sandoval, Erica Urdanivia, Manuel Alcala, Renee Cañas, Adrian Alcala, Christopher Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Richard Martinez, Michael Martinez, Steven Martinez and Robert Martinez. Great Grandchildren Noah Gray, Tucker Gray, Amanda Heredia, Paul Heredia, Breanna Sandoval, Brittney Morgan Samantha Lucas, Woniya Sandoval, Brendan Urdanivia, Carissa Urdanivia, Joel Mesa, Andrew Alcala, Anthony Cañas, Veronica Cañas, Alex Cañas, and Aspen Martinez. Mary had many great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, son in laws, daughter in laws, and friends whom she called family that she loved dearly. Mary welcomed all that entered into her life. She was kind, generous, and loving. Mary possessed a mighty strength that was guided by love and faith in God. She worked hard in her lifetime to care for her family and all those that entered her home. She did not ever turn anyone away and prayed for us all daily. To all that knew Nana, she was a great story teller and enjoyed visiting with family and passing on stories of generations that had passed and those present. In her younger days she loved to dance, sing and celebrate with her family. Nana fed all her family and we knew that we could come home to a warm pot of beans, New Mexico Green Chile, and homemade tortillas to nourish our bellies and our souls with grandma's love. In Mary's final days she was cared for by her Daughter Teresa, Granddaughter Renee, Grand Son in Law Rony and their children. Nana Mary lived in their home where she was surrounded by family and love just as she requested. She was never alone and passed peacefully in her sleep with her rosary in hand. She was guided to the gates of heaven by the loved ones that passed before her. Mary's services will take place on 7/7/2015 at Kraft & Sussman Funeral Home in Las Vegas Nevada with visitation and prayer from 9:30am -12:30 pm she will be laid to rest at Bunker's Memorial Garden at 1pm with reception to follow at Mary's home with the Cañas family. Walking In Beauty Today I will walk out, today everything unnecessary will leave me, I will be as I was before, I will have a cool breeze over my body. I will have a light body, I will be happy forever, nothing will hinder me. I walk with beauty before me. I walk with beauty behind me. I walk with beauty below me. I walk with beauty above me. I walk with beauty around me. My words will be beautiful. In beauty all day long may I walk. Through the returning seasons, may I walk. On the trail marked with pollen may I walk. With dew about my feet, may I walk. With beauty before me may I walk. With beauty behind me may I walk. With beauty below me may I walk. With beauty above me may I walk. With beauty all around me may I walk. In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively, may I walk. In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, living again, may I walk. My words will be beautiful.
